RetroFoam Installed in Attached Garage in Seville, OH
Challenge
A homeowner in Seville, OH needed a solution for insulating his finished, attached garage without bringing the walls down to the studs. He wanted minimal disturbance to the house, but needed to improve the insulation in order to make the space more functional and comfortable. The customer found that Primary Home Improvements was his local and expert RetroFoam dealer. He called and was scheduled with a free in-home estimate.
Solution
On the day of the estimate, energy consultant Bert, determined that this garage would be a great candidate for RetroFoam. Usually RetroFoam is installed on the exterior, but the customer did not want holes drilled into his wood siding. Bert found a solution for the customer and explained that RetroFoam can also be installed from the interior walls. The customer was happy with this and signed up for the install date the same day as his estimate!
The wall crew arrived on the day of the project and walked through the process with the homeowner before beginning. After this, they began drilling holes between every stud and also underneath each window. This ensures that the injection foam works to keep out drafts and outside air from each exterior wall and window. Once done injecting RetroFoam, the installers plugged each hole. The customer can now decide if they would like to patch and paint the holes. Now this attached garage is insulated with the best R-Value and can be used year round!
