Garage Ceiling Insulated with RetroFoam in Rocky River, OH
Challenge
A customer in Rocky River, OH wanted a permanent solution to insulating between floors from the garage. Not only was the sound of vehicles very prevalent in the living space above, but the floor in between the rooms was making both areas cold. Her garage was also finished with drywall, so she wanted to insulate it without ripping out walls. Solution
Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the free estimate and explained to the customer how RetroFoam works in garage ceilings. RetroFoam seemed like the perfect solution to her wants and needs so Bert signed her up for an install date at the end of the estimate.
On the day of the project, the crew began working to insulate the garage. They began by drilling holes along the entirety of the ceiling. Then, using the high-powered machine, they injected RetroFoam into each hole until the cavities were completely filled. RetroFoam comes out with a shaving cream consistency and fills every part of the space. The injection foam then hardens in the cavity, which air seals and stops drafts from reaching the area above. Additionally, RetroFoam can muffle up to 80% of sound transmission! This creates an insulated and sound dampened room. After RetroFoam was injected, the installers plugged all holes and cleaned up the work area. They performed a final walk through with the customer to make sure everything was done to satisfaction.
