Tru-Soft Cellulose Transforms Attic in Warren, OH
Challenge
This homeowner in Warren, OH recently had their roof replaced and this home improvement caused more damage to the already old insulation. The attic only had rolled fiberglass on the ceiling that was falling down and dirty. This lack of insulation was creating an uncomfortable home as well as high energy bills. Solution
On the day of the appointment, the energy consultant climbed up into the bungalow attic and noticed the sparse, damaged and old insulation. He concluded that the attic needed to be properly insulated and that cellulose offers a durable, cost-effective solution. He made sure to explain all products and processes to the customer and got her signed up for an install date!
When installers arrived to the home, they walked through the project with the customer before starting. They then began to insulate the attic. To begin, installers attached baffles between the vented soffits so that the attic can breathe correctly. Baffles are important because they provide space between the soffit and insulation, preventing blocked airflow and moisture buildup. Next, they used our high-power blower machine to spread the cellulose to every inch of the attic. Using a measuring tool, they made sure the entire attic reached an R-30 insulating power. Finally, they did a final walkthrough with the homeowner to make sure everything was done to satisfaction.
