RetroFoam Installed in Finished Garage Ceiling in Wooster, OH
Challenge
A homeowner in Wooster, OH wanted a solution for insulating his finished garage. Spray foam was not a good option because drywall was up and he didn't want to rip them down to bare bones. He found that Primary Home Improvements was a RetroFoam dealer in the area and scheduled a free estimate to see if injection foam would be a good option.
Solution
The energy consultant carefully examined the garage ceiling, including material and cavity depth and determined that it was a great candidate for RetroFoam insulation. After going through the process and detailed, written quote, the customer was then set up with an install date on the spot!
On the day of the project, installers at Primary Home Improvements walked through what they were going to do exactly. Once the initial walkthrough was done, they got to work! They started by drilling holes a few inches apart around the entire area of the ceiling. This would ensure that the injection foam would fill up the entire cavity, instead of just part of it. Then, they began injecting RetroFoam in all of the holes made in the drywalled ceiling. As soon as foam started coming out of the holes, they knew it was filled. Once all cavities were filled, they sealed the holes with foam plugs and cleaned up the entire garage. RetroFoam will harden in the ceiling within 48 hours and will now insulate the garage and room above. RetroFoam never settles and will always give your home a strong R-Value.
