Job Stories From Wickliffe, OH
Home Sound Dampened and Air-Sealed in Wickliffe, OH

A customer in Wickliffe, OH was looking for solutions to not only insulate his walls, but also sound dampen and air-seal. He didn't want to cause disturbance to his house by tearing the walls down. He found that Primary Home Improvements offered RetroFoam, a high-quality injection foam, that could solve these issues for him. He was promptly scheduled a free in-home estimate.

The energy consultant assessed the home and confirmed that RetroFoam would be a great candidate for this existing home. The customer was then set up with an install date for his project.

The wall crew arrived on the day of install and began the installation process. They removed a piece of siding around the home and drilled small holes between wall studs. RetroFoam was then injected into each hole, filling the entire wall cavities. RetroFoam is different than traditional insulation because it fills every inch of the wall space and leaves no room for drafts or sound transmission. Once fully installed, the wall crew sealed the holes with foam plugs and placed the siding back on carefully.

This homeowner was thrilled to have an insulated, air-sealed and sound dampened home without the mess of a remodel.

RetroFoam Injection Foam Installed in Wickliffe, OH

A customer in Wickliffe, OH was noticing that her heating and cooling could not keep up with the changing weather outside. Her home was built in 1956 and she could feel the lack of insulation from her walls. She found that Primary Home Improvements could insulate her existing walls without tearing them down to the studs. She was quickly scheduled with a free in-home estimate.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the estimate and informed the customer that older homes did not have sufficient or high-quality insulation. This is because insulating walls did not become the standard until 1965. He explained to the customer that RetroFoam injection foam could be installed from the exterior walls and help to create a comfortable, energy-efficient home. The customer was signed up for an install then and there.

The installers showed up on the day of the project and began the process of insulating the walls. They began by taking a piece of vinyl siding off around the home. They drilled small, 2 9/16" holes between each stud and injected RetroFoam into the entire wall cavity. Each wall cavity was filled until they could not be filled anymore. This ensures that, when hardened, RetroFoam creates a draft-free home. Once done injecting each hole, the wall crew plugged the holes and put the siding back on carefully. They finished off by vacuuming any excess injection foam off the ground and performing a final walkthrough with the customer.

Primary Home Improvements left this homeowner with fully insulated walls and the best R-Value around!

Walls and Attic Insulated in Wickliffe, OH

A homeowner in Wickliffe, OH was attending the Great Big Home and Garden Show when he came across the booth for Primary Home Improvements. He had been needing insulation solutions for his home, but didn't want the mess of a remodel and needed long-lasting products. The booth representative spent time sharing about the high-quality wall and attic insulation products we use. The customer was signed up for a free estimate then and there.

Bert, the energy consultant, met with the customer to evaluate his home's insulation needs. He made sure to thoroughly look at the walls and attic. He determined that both of these areas were lacking sufficient insulation. This was causing high energy bills and polarizing temperatures. Bert explained that RetroFoam injection foam in the walls and Knauf fiberglass in the attic would solve these issues.

On the day of the project, the wall and attic crew began to insulate the whole home. This particular home had brick siding, so the installers drilled small holes between the mortar and injected RetroFoam in the wall cavities. RetroFoam will then harden in the wall cavity within 48 hours and create an air-sealed barrier. Installers finish out insulating the walls by re-mortaring the brick and cleaning up the work space.

The attic crew begins by using a high-powered blower machine and feeding Knauf fiberglass into it. This breaks down the fiberglass into a fluffy but dense material that creates a superior R-Value per inch. This attic had little to no insulation before, so the installers made sure to insulate the attic at a high R-Value. They made sure the fiberglass was blown consistently around the attic. Knauf fiberglass is class 1 fire rated and has excellent thermal properties that resist heat flow.

This customer can now enjoy a fully insulated home that is protected from the outside air!
